Peer-to-peer based file sharing technologies are creating a rather large amount of buzz these days, especially with the music industry shouting about how all the piracy is destroying them...

If you ask me, the core issue is simply the fact that today's consumers demand something the industry won't supply, and file sharing has esentially filled the gap. Jonathan A. Zdziarski's report on the File Sharing Experiment plays a very similar tone. Tim O'Reilly wrote a piece on peer-to-peer issues in the end of 2002, but it is more current today than ever. File sharing is not without issues, though. Many people sharing stuff may or may not realize that they are sharing their personal images for everyone else to see. Found Photos, on the other hand, does realize this. And don't forget a camera memory card in a cab either: I Found Some Of Your Life. Like copyright, privacy will have all sorts of new issues to deal with in the future. I, for one, hope to raise my kids to be able to deal with stuff like this, and I believe all current parents should. Once something interesting hits the Internet it tends to stick...
