Programming as Art
The concept of programming as art, and the demoscene is not something that most people are familiar with. Here's a little task for ya:
- Watch the video of the demo debris by the group farbrausch at Youtube.
- Try to guess the size of the executable file which was used to generate that demo video.
- Download the debris demo here and find out...
My point is: Programming can really be an artform, and you can do incredible feats with very little if you know your stuff. Things like these make you wonder how Windows Vista can take up gigabytes of space. You could fit thousands of copies of the demo above the same amount. I guess Microsoft just wants to make sure people keep upgrading their computers...
